Oh, my, goodness! Adventureland was amazing!!!!! It was sooo much fun, and I can't wait to go again! I think I went on about 25 rides, although that doesn't sound quite right. We spent nearly eleven hours there, and twenty-five rides in eleven hours means just over two rides per hour, and I'm sure I went on more than that!
When we got there, almost everyone went straight to the Space Shot, but I didn't do it then, it just looked waaaay too scary. The Falling Star was my first ride, and in my opinion one of the best. It took a little bit of convincing to get me to go on the Tornado rollercoaster, but that turned out great. When I was in line for the Dragon, I chickened out at the last minute. I didn't care how safe it was, I didn't want to go upside down! So one of the leaders teased me about that when I was thinking of doing the same thing while in line for the Space Shot. I think that if he hadn't, I wouldn't have gone on it. I've got no problem calling myself chicken, but when someone else does it I just want to prove them wrong! So I went on the 235 foot high 'Drop to Near Death' (aka the Space Shot) and loved it! Also, against my better judgement, I went on the Log Ride with my friends Darrion, Ethan, and Chuck. Chuck had sworn that the ride didn't get you very wet if you're not at the front, and that no more than a few drops of water would fall on me. HA! I had remained remarkably dry, when, out of the blue, I heard Ethan say "Hey, they didn't get wet enough!" Chuck agreed and they both started splashing us as much as possible! And we couldn't do a thing about it! I tried grabbing Ethan's arms, but to no avail. I had to walk around in wet jeans and shoes for the rest of the day. My jeans dried, but not the shoes. Hmph.
I also went on the Underground twice. The first time there was a pair of screaming girls behind us. It wasn't even scary! It's supposed to be really spooky, with 'ghosts' and 'falling' beams in a mine. It's not.
The last ride I went on was the *not so* dreaded Space Shot. 235 feet up in the air seems a lot higher up when you're in mid air, not in a building!
We went to a Culvers somewhere between there and here for supper. I ran on adrenaline all day, and could barely eat a thing then. After we left there, Darrion, Chuck and I watched part of a movie on his portable DVD player. The movie is called Unbreakable, with Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. Has anyone ever seen it? Did you like it? We didn't watch all of it because we couldn't hear it properly, and it was rather hard to watch and read subtitles at the same time. After that we all talked for a while, then it fell silent in the van and I snoozed until we were almost back to the church.
Thursday was great, I made a couple new friends and got to know others a bit better. I'd love to do it all over again, although I would do a few things differently. For one thing, I'd go ahead and ride the other rollercoasters, and I'd bring flip-flops to wear on the water rides so I don't have to squelch around in wet tennis shoes all day!
So that was my Adventureland trip. Y'all had better be glad it took me this long to post about it. Yesterday I started a post and went over just about everything in agonizing detail! If you thought this was rather boring and parts unnecessary, you should see what I was going to write!
On Friday morning (we didn't get all the way home until nearly two), I had a bit of a fever from being out in the sun all day and probably slight dehydration. It was awful! I had a weird nightmare about being on a ride like the Tilt-A-Whirl, and everyone else was stopping and getting off, but the ride attendant wouldn't stop my booth (or whatever you call it) and let me get off. I woke up crying because of it, and wasn't quite sure whether I was still on the ride or in my room! Man, I hope I never dream like that again! And then I was up by six, because I hadn't pumped up the air-mattress I sleep on, so I was on the floor and there was no comfortable position except sitting up.
But I'm boring you with all this, aren't I? Don't worry, I don't think there's much else to write. Except that this morning before church, Dad's back started hurting really bad, and Advil didn't help. So Mom took him to the E.R. after church. It turns out he was just really sore from moving a new sofa in on Friday and it didn't hurt until today.
I am going to go ahead and stop writing now so you don't have to read anymore boring details. I'll try and post again soon.
TTYL!
